Want to Learn to Sail This Summer?
Come to Fifty Point Marina!


Fifty Point Yacht Club is offering a Youth Learn to Sail Program this summer in partnership with Ontario Sailing's BOOM program, www.ontariosailing.ca
The BOOM program is an introductory learn to sail program which focuses on fun, safety and fundamental sailing skills using Sail Canada's CANSail 1 and 2 standards. Sailors will learn skills including boat balance, sail trim, heading up, bearing off, tacking, gybing, leadership, knots, basic weather patterns, docking and sailing terminology. These skills are creatively crafted into fun and unique lessons by our team of qualified and experienced instructors both on and off the water.

Date: August 17 to 21 and August 24 to 28, 2020
Time: 9 am to 4 pm
Location: Fifty Point Conservation Area Marina, 1479 Baseline Road, Winona, www.hamiltonconservation.ca
Registration Now Open. Fee to be paid at time of registration by e-transfer to FPYC Treasurer, Judie Galvin
Fee: $425 for 1 week, $795 for 2 weeks

    Other general information:
  • Each program is limited to 16 participants. The 16 spaces per program will be allocated to the first 16 registration forms with fee payments received.
  • The program is open to the public.
  • The program runs from 9 am to 4 pm and participants may arrive at the marina any time after 8:30 am.
  • On Day 1, participants will meet at the Western Marina Services area. Site Map. Parents/guardians are welcome to attend the Day 1 program introduction.
  • Participants to bring a nut-free lunch daily. A fridge is available on site.
  • Parents/guardians may enter the conservation area to drop off and pick up participants at no charge. Should the parent or guardian wish to stay at the conservation area beyond the drop off/pick up time (or Day 1 introduction), the regular entry fee will apply.
  • Ontario Sailing supplies 8 sailboats, 2 dinghies with motors, 2 instructors and lifejackets for youth (if required).
